Present your results

The presentation of your work is essential to its success.

Here are some guidelines.

  • Word-process your work, refining the content by reference to the draft.

  • Use a serif font for the body text. Times New Roman is appropriate.

  • Use 12 point font size for the body text.

  • Use double spacing to separate paragraphs.

  • Avoid underlining titles, headings, and sub-headings.

  • Leave wide margins.

  • Write on one side of page only.

  • Select the appropriate information type (table, diagram, bulleted list)

  • Number your pages.

  • Use a consistent page layout.

  • Signpost introduction, sections, conclusion, bibliography.

  • Choose footnotes rather than end notes.

  • Include the full title of your essay, dissertation or project.

  • Include the date, your full name and the recipient's name.

  • Present your piece in a suitable binder which allows for easy progress through the work.

  • If you choose plastic wallets, use a separate one for every page.
