Write your assignment

This is a challenging task for all writers, but it should be fairly straightforward if you have carried out the previous stages efficiently.

The procedure should be as follows.

Have your units of data, already labelled with their working titles, on the table in front of you.

These units are likely to be made up of a miscellaneous collection of forms such as:

  • direct quotes
  • pictures
  • diagrams
  • critical opinions transformed into your own words
  • lecture notes - now distilled to relevant points
  • notes on live performances, TV programmes, electronic programs, internet sources
  • handouts from your tutors - now distilled to the essential points

Write one draft only, choosing handwriting or word-processing.

Write each unit separately, making clear concise and relevant statements.

Include a brief conclusion at the end of each unit.

Write a main conclusion which draws the brief conclusions together.

Write an introduction which is designed to prepare your reader for what is in the work and which sets off the navigation process.

Devise the back and front materials.
