et al |
An abbreviation of a Latin phrase, et alii, which means 'and others'.
Used when writing a reference or citation if a book or article has been written by more than three authors, as in - Smith, R et al. |
E-Journal |
A journal which is available via the Internet.
The journal is usually, but not always, also available in paper format.
Also known as Electronic Journal. |
E-Mail |
Electronic mail. A system that allows messages and files to be sent across computer networks. |
Errata |
Errors found after a book or journal has been published.
These are normally on a separate sheet and attached to the book or journal. |
Essays |
Essays are pieces of written work which are submitted by students to the university and are one form of assessment. Essays usually have a set number of words depending on the subject or tutor, but are often around 1500 words. Students are expected to answer a question, showing that they have done some research and are able to discuss the issues clearly and logically.
