2. The role of the Tutor

The Headstart tutor leads and guides the students through the training programme.

To deliver the course successfully, the tutor should:

• Lead the students through the assignments
   
• Provide support and contact
   
• Be aware of the students' needs, concerns and aims
   
• Be familiar with, and confident in the delivery of every part of the course
   
• Be able to communicate why the students are attending the course and its value to them
